The kit and the certificates
Fujitsu and Panasonic systems, every one an air to air heat pump that heats in winter too. Handling refrigerant legally needs an F-Gas certified engineer and a registered company. Ours are, REFCOM REF1024550, and every install is pressure tested, vacuumed and commissioned to the manufacturer’s procedure so the warranty holds.

Do I have to have planning permission for air conditioning in Camden?
Often, yes. The national permitted development right for heat pump units, widened in May 2025, does not apply on a listed building and does not allow a unit on a street facing wall in a conservation area. Camden has gone further and removed permitted development rights altogether in Hampstead, Belsize, Primrose Hill, Dartmouth Park, South Hampstead, South Hill Park, Redington and Frognal and Fitzjohns Netherhall, so a full application is needed there. What is the noise assessment Camden asks for?
For any new plant, including air conditioning, Camden wants the existing background noise measured over 24 hours, the level the unit will add, and the mitigation. Its Local Plan says quiet streets get less tolerance, which describes most of Hampstead and Belsize Park. We choose units for their sound rating, mount them on anti vibration feet and arrange the report.
Why is the VAT on air conditioning 0%?
Because an air to air heat pump fitted in a home counts as an energy saving material under HMRC Notice 708/6, zero rated to 31 March 2027 and expected to move to 5% after that. A business address pays the full 20%. Whichever applies is printed on your quote.
