HERTFORDSHIRE, BEDFORDSHIRE & CAMBRIDGESHIRE
Wall mounted and multi-split air conditioning in Enfield, installed by F-Gas certified engineers. Cools in summer, heats in winter, and 0% VAT applies on most residential installations.

Less than most people expect. A typical wall unit costs about 11p an hour to cool one room and about 17p an hour to heat it. Put in your own electricity rate and see what it would cost you.
Air conditioning installation in Enfield for the loft bedroom in a Southgate semi that is unbearable by July, the top floor of a Bush Hill Park villa, the home office in Winchmore Hill and the glazed kitchen at the back of a Grange Park house. Fitted by F-Gas registered engineers, at 0% VAT for homes under the current HMRC energy saving materials relief, with a price in writing before a hole is drilled. Ring 01462 506 374, or photograph the room and the outside wall and send us both.
The heat in Enfield is London’s heat. A built up borough holds the day’s warmth in its brick and tarmac and gives it back after dark, so a summer night in Palmers Green or Edmonton is warmer than the same night in the Hertfordshire fields a few miles north, and the bedroom that was uncomfortable at six in the evening is still uncomfortable at two in the morning. The houses make it worse. The 1930s semis that cover Southgate, Oakwood, Palmers Green and Enfield Chase face their big bays south or west by the thousand, and a great many have a room in the roof that was added in the last thirty years, insulated to keep heat in and sitting directly under slates that bake in the afternoon sun. The Victorian villas of Bush Hill Park and Winchmore Hill stack three floors of hot air under a slate roof with the bedrooms at the top. Opening the window lets in the traffic on the A10 and the A406 and not much cooler air.

The loft bedroom. The request we hear most from houses like these. One wall unit, one outdoor unit, the pipe run down the rear wall, done in a day, and the room becomes usable for the whole summer.
The home office. A box room or a garden office in which somebody sits for eight hours in August. One small unit, sized for the room, quiet enough to take calls beside.
The top floor of the villa. Two or three bedrooms under the roof of a Bush Hill Park or Winchmore Hill house, served from one outdoor unit through a multi split, each room with its own control.
The glazed extension. The rear kitchen or garden room with a roof lantern and bifold doors, which is a greenhouse from May to September. A wall unit or a concealed ceiling unit, sized for the glass rather than the floor area.
The flat. Edmonton Green, Ponders End, the newer blocks at Enfield Island Village and Meridian Water. Possible once the freeholder or managing agent has agreed in writing to an outdoor unit on the balcony or wall, and we tell you exactly what to ask them for.
A wall mounted split system is one indoor unit and one outdoor unit joined by a short insulated pipe run, and it answers most Enfield requests. A multi split runs two, three or four indoor units from a single outdoor unit, so a whole top floor is cooled with one box on the outside wall. A ducted system hides the indoor unit in the loft or a ceiling void and serves the rooms through grilles, which suits the larger houses in Grange Park, Hadley Wood and around Trent Park where wall units are not the look wanted. All of it is heat pump equipment, and heats as well as cools.
Where the outdoor unit goes decides the price, the noise and whether consent is needed. On most of the borough’s housing an air source unit low on the back or side of the house is permitted development, subject to the size and position limits that apply to heat pumps, and the semi’s side return or the rear wall below a bedroom window is the usual spot.
Enfield Council has twenty two conservation areas, and the ones we work in most are Bush Hill Park, Winchmore Hill, Southgate Green, Grange Park, Hadley Wood, Enfield Town, Forty Hill, Clay Hill, Meadway, The Crescent, Vicars Moor Lane and Lakes Estate. Inside them an outdoor unit on a wall facing the road is generally not permitted development, and on a listed building, Gentleman’s Row in Enfield Town and the Georgian houses around Winchmore Hill Green among them, any external unit needs consent. We look at the elevation before quoting, so the price reflects where the unit can lawfully go rather than where it would be easiest to fix.
The gap between two 1930s semis is narrow and the neighbour’s bedroom window is often nearer to the side return than your own. A modern outdoor unit is quiet, but siting is everything: we mount it on anti vibration feet, away from bedroom windows on either side where the layout allows, and if the only sensible position is one the neighbour will hear we say so at survey, before any drilling, so the conversation over the fence happens first.
Everything we install is a heat pump. The same box that cools the loft in July heats it in January, and in spring and autumn running it for one room usually costs less than firing the gas boiler for the whole house. The 1930s semi’s back bedroom, the cold end of a Victorian villa’s top floor, the garden office with no radiator at all: these are rooms that get their heating from the air conditioning without anyone planning it. We raise it at the quote, because most people are buying a heater without knowing it.
An indoor unit produces condensate as it cools and the water must go somewhere. Ground floor units drain by gravity through the wall. Loft and first floor units generally need a small condensate pump, and the route of that pipe is planned before anything is drilled, because it is the pipe that drips through a bedroom ceiling if it was an afterthought. The refrigerant pipework is kept short, insulated and boxed on the outside wall. Every system is pressure tested with nitrogen and pulled to a deep vacuum before it is charged, and the refrigerant is handled only by F-Gas registered engineers, as the law requires. Ask anyone else quoting in Enfield to confirm their F-Gas registration before you compare figures.
Survey, supply, installation and commissioning by our own engineers, with the trunking run properly.
Air to air heat pumps fitted in a home qualify as energy saving materials under HMRC VAT Notice 708/6, so both the equipment and the fitting carry 0% VAT until 31 March 2027. For a household that is twenty per cent less than the same work at the standard rate, and it covers houses and flats but not business premises. Our quote states the VAT position in writing.
There is no single price because the range is wide: how many rooms, how far the pipe has to run, whether the outdoor unit can sit at ground level or needs a bracket at first floor height, and whether a loft room needs access equipment all move it. What you get is a fixed figure in writing before we start, with the VAT position on it, and no addition once an engineer is in the loft. For most Enfield houses one unit in the room that stops you sleeping solves the problem for far less than a whole house system, and we say so rather than sell the bigger job.
An air conditioning unit wants a service once a year: filters cleaned, condensate line cleared, refrigerant pressures checked, and the outdoor unit freed of the leaves that Enfield’s streets and gardens deposit in it. A serviced unit is quieter, cheaper to run and lasts far longer. We service our own installations and other people’s.
Our air conditioning installers in Enfield are F-Gas registered engineers who handle the refrigerant themselves, not a subcontracted crew. Every air conditioning installation in Enfield is surveyed first, so the outdoor unit position, the condensate route and any conservation area question are settled before a price is given, and the price then holds. Ask any other installer quoting in the borough to confirm their F-Gas registration before you compare.
A house that needs cooling in summer often needs its heating looked at too: boiler installation in Enfield. A ducted system in the loft goes in well alongside a loft en suite from bathroom renovation in Enfield. Radiators that have gone cold at the bottom are power flushing in Enfield.

Yes. A home installation of an air to air heat pump is zero rated under the current relief until 31 March 2027.
Usually, with the outdoor unit on a rear or side wall not facing the road. We check the elevation and tell you before quoting.
Yes, and it is the commonest request from Enfield’s semis. One wall unit, a condensate pump, the pipe run down the rear wall, done in a day.
Sited properly, on anti vibration mounts and away from their windows, a modern unit is very quiet. We plan the position for them as well as for you.
Yes. It is a heat pump, and in winter it warms the room, often for less than the gas boiler would cost for that one room.
Often, once the freeholder or managing agent has agreed in writing to the outdoor unit. We tell you what to ask for.
It depends on the number of rooms and where the outdoor unit can go, so we price every installation after a free survey and give you a fixed written quote. A single-room split system is the starting point; a multi-split serves several rooms from one outdoor unit. We install Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, LG and Samsung and there is no call-out fee in working hours.
Yes. The split systems we install are air-to-air heat pumps, so the same unit heats in winter and cools in summer. In heating mode a modern unit delivers around three to four units of heat for every unit of electricity, which makes it one of the cheapest ways to heat a single room, home office or extension.
Usually not. In England a domestic outdoor unit under 1.5 cubic metres (0.6 for a flat), not on a pitched roof and not on a front wall facing the road, falls within permitted development following the 2025 rule change. Listed buildings and conservation areas are the exceptions, and leaseholders need the freeholder’s consent. We tell you at the survey if your property is one of the exceptions.
Less than most people expect. A typical single-room unit draws around 0.5 to 1 kW while running, so an evening of cooling costs a few tens of pence at current tariffs, and in heating mode it is usually cheaper per unit of heat than a plug-in electric heater. Keeping the filters clean and having the system serviced keeps it at that level.
Yes. Vantage is F-Gas certified through Refcom, registration REF1024550, which is a legal requirement for anyone installing or working on air conditioning refrigerant circuits. Every installation is commissioned, leak-tested and comes with a 12 month labour guarantee on top of the manufacturer warranty.
