Will my conservation area affect the AC install?
Domestic AC is generally permitted development even in conservation areas, provided the outdoor unit isn’t on a wall facing a highway and is set back from boundaries. Listed buildings are different, they need listed building consent for almost any external alteration. We check both during the survey and tell you what applies.
Will an air conditioning unit actually heat my home in winter?
Yes, modern heat-pump split systems both cool in summer and heat efficiently in winter. They produce 3 to 4 kW of heat for every 1 kW of electricity used, which makes them significantly cheaper to run than electric heaters.
How noisy are modern AC units?
