New boilers in Enfield from Gas Safe engineers: combi, system and regular swaps from £2,375 + VAT (£2,850 including VAT), the old boiler removed and the warranty registered for you.

Boiler installation in Enfield by Gas Safe registered engineers, registration 956889, from a like for like combi swap at £2,850 to a system boiler and unvented cylinder for a five bedroom house in Grange Park. Warranty registered before we leave, Benchmark book completed, Gas Safety Certificate in your hand. Ring 01462 506 374, or fill in the quote form with a photograph of the boiler you have.
Most Enfield boilers can be priced from a phone call: the make and position of what you have, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, whether there is a tank in the loft. Where the answer is a back boiler, a boiler moving rooms, or a conversion from a vented system, we survey first, and the figure that follows the survey is the figure on the invoice. Nobody sits in your front room until nine at night.

Enfield is Thames Water’s, and Thames publishes a hardness figure for every zone. Enfield Town zone, taking in Ponders End and Enfield Highway, 266 mg/l of calcium carbonate. Bush Hill, taking in the town centre, Bush Hill Park and Edmonton, 260. Enfield West, taking in Forty Hill, Clay Hill, Southgate and Winchmore Hill, 262. Oakwood, taking in Hadley Wood, 267. Waltham Abbey, taking in Enfield Lock, 263.
Seven milligrams separate the softest zone from the hardest, so there is no soft end of the borough and no house in it that can skip scale protection. What hard water does inside a combi is slow and expensive: calcium carbonate comes out of solution on the hot side of the plate heat exchanger, the exchanger narrows, hot water goes from hot to lukewarm mid shower, and the boiler starts to bang when the hot tap opens. That is a heat exchanger in year six on a boiler that should last fifteen. An inline scale reducer on the mains feed is a small part and a small labour cost on the day, we fit one as standard, and it is what keeps the longer manufacturer warranties valid in a hard water area. We read the warranty conditions for your boiler before we promise a term.
Two manufacturers do most of our work in Enfield because they suit its housing.
The Vaillant ecoTEC plus goes into the bigger houses, Grange Park, Hadley Wood, Winchmore Hill, the Bush Hill Park villas, as a system boiler feeding an unvented cylinder, because two or three bathrooms in use together need stored hot water at mains pressure and a combi cannot give it. Strong output, easy servicing access, and parts that arrive the same week.
The Ideal Logic and Logic Max goes into the three bedroom semis that are most of Southgate, Oakwood, Palmers Green and Enfield Chase, as a combi. Dependable, sensibly priced, with a long warranty when it is installed to the manufacturer’s specification and serviced every year.
The most common fault we are called to on other people’s installations is a combi too small for the house, chosen at quote stage to win on price. We do not do it.
A like for like combi swap starts with dust sheets down at half past eight and ends with you holding the controls at about four. In between: system drained, old appliance off the wall, new one hung and piped, system flushed, magnetic filter and scale reducer on, gas tightness tested, commissioned, paperwork completed. A conversion from a vented system takes a second day, because the loft tanks and the airing cupboard cylinder come out, the old feed and vent pipes are capped off, the cold main is re-run and the airing cupboard is made good. Moving the boiler to another room takes a second day too, for the fresh gas supply, the fresh flue and the fresh condensate drain that go with it.
Bush Hill Park, 1880 onwards. A prestige estate from the start, designated a conservation area in 1986 and extended in 1994. Three storeys, solid brick, a back addition, and a boiler that is often in a cellar or a scullery with a flue that has to clear the neighbour’s window. Inside the conservation area a terminal on the front elevation can need consent, so we route to the rear or the side wherever the layout allows.
Gentleman’s Row and Enfield Town. Sixteenth to eighteenth century houses inside the Enfield Town conservation area, some listed. Here the flue route is the whole job. A listed frontage needs consent for any external terminal, and the internal route through three centuries of floors is a survey, not a phone quote.
Southgate, Oakwood, Enfield Chase, 1930s. Boiler in the kitchen, condensate pipe out through the wall to a gully, and that pipe is the one that ices up on the first sharp frost and stops the boiler on the one morning you need it most. Where the house permits, the condensate stays indoors; where it cannot, it goes out in the larger bore, lagged, and falling steadily to the drain.
Enfield Highway, Enfield Wash and Edmonton. A fair number of gas fires still have a back boiler behind them. Taking one out means dealing with the fireplace opening and the chimney properly, and the new boiler almost always goes in the kitchen on new pipework. Two days, and we price it as two.
The flats. Edmonton Green’s 1965 to 1974 blocks, the Alma Road rebuild at Ponders End, Enfield Island Village. The flue route is fixed by the block, the freeholder may need to be told, and the boiler position is rarely negotiable. We tell you what is possible before you commit.
A like for like combi swap in Enfield begins at £2,850. Inside that figure: the boiler, the fitting, the system flush, a magnetic filter, the scale reducer, the flue, registration of the warranty, and VAT. It is the right bracket for most of the three bedroom semis of Southgate, Palmers Green and Enfield Chase. Taking out a back boiler, or converting a vented system to a combi, sits above it because of the second day and the extra materials. A system boiler with an unvented cylinder for a Grange Park or Hadley Wood house sits above that. Whichever it is, the number is fixed after the survey and it stays fixed.
Combi, system and regular swaps, the old boiler removed and the system cleaned, with a fixed price before we start.
Every installation we do in Enfield leaves three documents behind. The Gas Safety Certificate, because the work was done by a Gas Safe registered engineer and the law says so. The Benchmark commissioning checklist inside the boiler’s own book, filled in with the actual readings from your installation rather than ticked in the van, because a manufacturer can refuse a warranty claim without it. And the warranty registration itself, done by us on the day rather than left as a form for you to post, because an unregistered boiler usually carries a shorter warranty than the one you were sold. We also notify Building Control through the Gas Safe register, so the installation appears when you come to sell. None of that is extra. All of it is missing from a worrying number of the installations we are asked to look at.
One thing a phone quote cannot see is the gas supply. A modern combi wants a 22 mm gas run and a meter that can deliver it, and the 1880s villas of Bush Hill Park and the Edwardian streets near Enfield Town station frequently have a meter in the cellar and a 15 mm run to the kitchen that was fine for a cooker and a gas fire and is not fine for a 30 kW boiler. Undersized gas is the commonest reason a new boiler underperforms, and it is invisible until somebody measures the working pressure at the appliance. We measure it at the survey and, where the run needs upgrading, we price the upgrade into the quote rather than discovering it on the day. Where the meter itself is the limit we tell you what to ask the network for.
A new boiler wants an annual service to keep its warranty, with a written record, and we do that. If the boiler you have is under about eight years old with a single failed part, we will say repair it. Past twelve years with a dead heat exchanger or gas valve and scarce parts, we will say replace it. You get both numbers and you decide, and nobody is paid a commission for talking you into the bigger one.
Most of the boilers we replace in Enfield are fifteen to twenty five years old: the combi that went into a Southgate semi in the 2000s, the floor standing boiler still working in a Bush Hill Park villa, the back boiler behind a fireplace in an Edmonton terrace. A boiler replacement in Enfield is a like for like swap in a day where the position and the system suit, and a conversion over two days where they do not. The heating engineer in Enfield who surveys it is Gas Safe registered under 956889, and the price is fixed before we start.

For a combi swap, a working day. For a conversion or a back boiler, two. Hot water is back on the first evening either way.
Yes. Thames Water’s zones here run 260 to 267 mg/l, and some manufacturers void the longer warranty without scale protection in hard water. It is fitted as standard.
One bathroom, a combi. Two or three in use together, a system boiler and an unvented cylinder. We say which at quote stage and explain why.
Yes. The flue route decides it and may need consent, and we survey and route it where it will be approved.
We do, before we leave, and you get the confirmation.
In the newer, well insulated housing at Enfield Island Village and Meridian Water, possibly. In an 1880s villa or a 1930s semi, a modern condensing gas boiler is still the right answer today, and we will tell you so.
Our boiler installations start from £2,850 fitted, and every quote is a fixed written price before any work starts. The final figure depends on the boiler (we fit Ideal and Vaillant, with manufacturer warranties up to 12 years), whether it is a like-for-like swap or a change of system type, and any flue or pipework changes. There is no call-out fee in working hours.
A combi (combination) boiler heats your radiators and your hot water from one unit, taking water straight from the mains and heating it on demand. There is no hot water cylinder and no tank in the loft, which is why it suits most flats and family homes. If you have several bathrooms running at once, a system boiler with a cylinder can be the better choice, and we will tell you which at the survey.
A modern gas boiler that is serviced every year typically lasts 10 to 15 years. Past that point repairs get dearer, parts get harder to find and efficiency falls, which is usually when a replacement starts to pay for itself. If your boiler is under ten years old and the fault is a single part, a repair is normally the right call.
A standard annual service takes around 30 to 60 minutes. The engineer checks the flue gases with an analyser, inspects the burner, seals, safety devices and pressure, cleans components where needed and leaves you a written record. An annual service keeps the manufacturer warranty valid.
Rarely. The ECO4 scheme runs to 31 December 2026 and almost never funds a like-for-like gas boiler on its own; it funds whole-home packages for households on qualifying benefits. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (£7,500) is for heat pumps, not gas boilers. Eligibility sits with the schemes, not with installers, so check them directly. For everyone else we quote a fixed price in writing.
Not between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside those hours there is a £50 + VAT call-out on top of the out-of-hours rate, and we tell you the cost on the phone before anyone sets off. Every rate is listed in full on our prices page.
