Boiler Repair in Langford

Langford water
Langford is in Anglian Water’s Potton public water supply zone. Anglian explains that hard water in its region comes from groundwater drawn from chalk or limestone.
We have not found a hardness figure published by Anglian Water for the Potton zone that we can quote, and figures from other websites for Langford disagree with each other, so we do not give a number. Anglian’s own postcode checker will give the figure for your address.
Where hardness goes beyond 200 mg/l, the guidance that accompanies the Building Regulations says a combi’s supply ought to be treated. If your hot water has started to surge and fade, scale on the plate heat exchanger is one of the first things we check.
Finding the cause, not clearing the code
A reset may get the boiler running again, but a lockout that keeps returning is the boiler protecting itself from something. Our engineers read the fault history and test the ignition, flame sensing, fan, pump, pressure vessel and gas supply until the failed part is identified.
That way you pay for the part that has failed, not for a series of guesses. Some faults only appear under load, so the engineer may run the heating and hot water in turn while watching the readings before naming the cause.
Garage boilers and frozen condensate
Plenty of Langford houses have the boiler in a garage, with a long condensate pipe running outside to a drain. In a hard frost that water freezes, the trap backs up and the boiler locks out, usually on the coldest morning of the year.

For a fixed £150 + VAT (£180 including VAT) we attend, diagnose and carry out any small job that needs no parts, with up to an hour on site. Go ahead with the repair on that visit and £70 of the diagnostic is taken off.
Outside weekday hours, gas work is charged at £225 + VAT for the first hour and £75 + VAT per half hour, with the £50 + VAT (£60 including VAT) call-out on top. You hear all of it on the phone first.
Repair or replace
We repair every common make, not only the Vaillant, Ideal and Worcester Bosch boilers we fit. If the boiler is sound apart from one part, we recommend the repair.

On most standard replacements, next day installation is available, subject to survey, and we remove the old boiler and register the warranty for you.
